Technoritarian Personality

A program block inspired by the classic Theodor Adorno's and a team of scholars' book who studied the phenomenon of authoritarian attitudes in American society in the 1940s. The “technoritarian” personality is, in a way, a research program dedicated to analyzing personality and behavioral changes that occur under the influence of technology, primarily online platforms and social media. Attention deficit and hyperactivity, disruptions in continuity and loss of competencies, radicalization of views and the creation of echo chambers, social disintegration, and shifts in subjectivity are phenomena arising from the use of new technological solutions and the alternative concepts of time, work, and materiality that they introduce, as well as an outcome of disinformation and manipulation — methods used for political purposes, which, thanks to technology, have an almost planetary reach.
